How trainable balance, agility, and coordination protect mobility, reduce fall risk, and support movement across the lifespan.
Large bodies of pooled trial evidence show that structured balance and functional training measurably improves postural control and reduces falls in older adults, with the strongest effects when balance is progressively challenged. Neuromotor skills such as reactive balance, gait adaptability, and coordination are trainable at any age. Effects depend on adequate challenge, dose, and progression rather than any single exercise.
