Terms of use
What you can expect from this app, what it is not, and the terms on which the content is offered.
Using the app
These terms apply to your use of this app, published by Wellness Literacy Co, LLC (dba Applied Wellness). Using it means accepting them. The app is offered as it is, free of charge, and currently as a beta: content, grades and features change as further reviews are completed.
This is education, not medical care
The content here is general wellness education. It does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or personalise medically, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. No clinical relationship is created by using it.
Nothing here should be used to start, stop or change a medical treatment or medication. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury or surgery, or take prescribed medication, talk to a clinician before taking up a new practice.
Entries carry their own population cautions and referral triggers. Where an entry names a point at which a question belongs to a professional, that is part of the content and it is there for a reason.
In an emergency
Do not use this app in a crisis. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 for a medical emergency. Outside the United States, use your local emergency number.
Your own judgment
You decide what to do. Physical activity and changes to sleep, diet and routine carry some risk, and only you and your clinician can judge what is appropriate for your body and circumstances. Work within what you can do, stop if something hurts, and treat a grade as information rather than an instruction.
A grade describes how confident the research is in a claim. It does not predict your result. Evidence describes averages across groups of people, and individual responses vary.
Accuracy, and reporting an error
The content is curated and checked by hand, cited to peer-reviewed research, and graded by the process described in Methodology. Even so, research moves and mistakes happen. No warranty is given that every entry is complete, current or free of error.
Corrections are made in place and are welcome. If you find an error in a claim, a dose, a grade or a citation, please tell us what you found.
Your plan and your data
Your plan is stored in your own browser and nowhere else, so keeping it is your responsibility: clearing your browser data deletes it and no copy exists. Privacy sets this out in full.
The content and how it may be used
The library, its wording, grades and structure, together with the name, logo and design of this app, belong to Wellness Literacy Co, LLC (dba Applied Wellness). The research it cites belongs to its authors and publishers, and the citations link to their work rather than reproducing it.
You are welcome to use the app for yourself, and to quote from it with attribution. Copying the library in bulk, scraping it, or republishing it as a dataset or a competing product is not permitted without written permission. Institutional use, including offering this to students or employees, is arranged separately.
Liability
The app is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Wellness Literacy Co, LLC (dba Applied Wellness) is not liable for loss or injury arising from your use of the app or of the practices described in it. This does not limit any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last reviewed, and material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
