Novelty & Curiosity Week

Seeking new and more challenging experiences, not repeating easy ones, is what seems to make mental activity worthwhile (Grade C). This weekly routine keeps some part of life genuinely unfamiliar. Engagement supports wellbeing; there is no validated dose and no guaranteed cognitive protection.

Grade inherited from the evidence blocks this routine implements. Duration is a starting point (do more or less); the app just tells you where you land against the evidence-based dose.
  1. 1
    Build a novelty-seeking routine
    1 new experience
Pick one deliberate novelty this week (a new route, food, tool, or problem), and rotate what you make novel.
  2. 2
Learn a new skill or language
    2-4 short sessions
Optional deeper track: start something genuinely unfamiliar and practice it in short sessions across the week.
  3. 3
Novelty and curiosity as engines of engagement
    reference
Concept anchor: effortful new experiences, not easy repetition, drive the engagement benefit.
