The dose-response curve for strength is steep at the start: the jump from nothing to a little training yields the largest returns. Reviews of minimal-dose training show that even a few hard sets per muscle per week, and as little as one weekly session, produce clinically meaningful strength and function gains, especially in beginners and older adults. This concept reframes strength training as accessible - the biggest health payoff comes from simply doing some, consistently, rather than from an optimized maximum.
