Reviews of low-volume HIIT and time-efficient protocols show meaningful CRF and cardiometabolic improvements from well under the traditional time budget. These formats are valuable when time is the barrier, but they trade tolerability and total-volume benefits (e.g., some endurance and volume-dependent adaptations) for efficiency. A minimal dose is a floor, not a replacement for higher-volume outcomes.
