Sprint interval training (SIT) uses brief maximal efforts (often 10–30 s) with recovery and produces meaningful CRF and cardiometabolic gains at very low total volume. Reviews show SIT can rival higher-volume training for some outcomes, though effects on body composition are modest and vary between people. Its intensity makes it potent but demanding.
