Evidence suggests that the design of a neighbourhood shapes health through the activity it makes convenient. Reviews link walkable built environments to lower obesity, type 2 diabetes and hypertension, with access to everyday destinations the feature most consistently associated with metabolic health. We grade this B because the evidence is observational and because walkability is measured differently across studies, so the direction is clearer than the magnitude.
