Detraining is the loss of strength and muscle when training is reduced or stopped, and adaptations do decline over weeks to months of inactivity. How little training preserves them is not well established: the trials behind this library run about nine weeks on median, so durability and detraining are among the field's named gaps. The one clear signal is that reducing volume, rather than stopping, protects gains. The practical reading stands: brief, reduced training through a disruption is far better than stopping entirely.
