Concurrent Cardio and Strength Training
Combining aerobic and resistance training improves overall fitness, with only modest interference on strength or muscle when programmed sensibly.
✓
Research consistently shows…
Evidence indicates concurrent aerobic plus resistance training improves body composition and cardiometabolic health, and any 'interference' with strength or hypertrophy is generally small and manageable through scheduling and dose. Combined programs are often optimal for broad health outcomes. Interference grows mainly with very high aerobic volumes performed close to strength work.

Common misconceptions
- 'Cardio destroys muscle' (interference is small and avoidable)
- 'You must pick one or the other' (combined training suits most health goals)
What we won't claim
- No cure claims for any disease
- No guaranteed outcomes or fixed numeric results for any individual
- Does not replace prescribed medical treatment
- Cardio does not 'kill gains' when programmed appropriately
When to seek a professional
- Chest pain, pressure, or unusual shortness of breath during exertion
- Fainting, dizziness, or palpitations with exercise
- Known or suspected cardiovascular, metabolic, or renal disease without medical clearance
