Combining aerobic and resistance training improves body composition and cardiometabolic health, and interference with strength or muscle is small when sessions are sensibly scheduled. This concurrent approach is often optimal for overall health outcomes. Separating hard cardio from heavy lifting and managing total load minimizes any interference.

This is the evidence-based dose. A shorter session still counts, it just gives partial benefit rather than the full effect.
Common misconceptions
- 'You can't build both at once' (concurrent training works for health goals)
- 'Do cardio and lifting back-to-back always' (spacing them limits interference)
