Aerobic and interval training reduce total and visceral fat, with larger effects when combined with dietary energy management, and higher weekly volumes tend to help more. Interval and continuous formats produce broadly similar fat changes for matched effort. Cardio contributes to fat loss but works best alongside nutrition and, ideally, resistance training.
