Meta-analyses of HIIT and continuous aerobic training report reductions in blood pressure and improvements in vascular markers such as endothelial function and arterial stiffness, with larger relative effects in people with elevated baseline pressure. Effect sizes are clinically useful but modest and vary by population and protocol. Training complements, and does not replace, prescribed antihypertensive care.
